Loans Programs

IRP and RBEG funding may be used for a number of business purposes. To be eligible for IRP loans the recipients must be located in a rural area, defined as any unincorporated area and any city with a population of 25,000 or less according to the latest decennial census. To be eligible for RBEG loans the recipients must be located in a rural area, defined as any unincorporated area and any city with a population of 50,000 or less according to the latest decennial census.

Eligible Projects

• The acquisition, construction, conversion, enlargement, or repair of a business or business facility, particularly when jobs will be created or retained.
• The purchase or development of land (easements, rights of way, buildings, facilities, leases, materials)
• The purchase of equipment, leasehold improvements, machinery, equipment, inventory or supplies
• Start up costs and working capital
• Pollution control and abatement
• Transportation services
• Feasibility studies
